Today marks my first year blogiversary! I wrote my first little post hoping someone might read it and leave a comment. Thanks to a couple of friends that had blogs already, they helped spread the word. I have met a lot of great gals from all over the world and love hearing about their stories and accomplishments. I get so inspired daily by so many talented crafters/quilters that share their ideas with all of us. I hope that something I have made or suggested might have helped or inspired somebody also. So to share a little in honor of my year of fun, I am giving the following away to celebrate. A darling pattern from the Acorn Quilt & Gift Company, Betsy's Closet....several half yard pieces of the cute fabric, Doll Dresses.....a charm pack of Spring Magic by April Cornell for Moda.....and a 5 1/2 inch ruler (one of those things I bought and had already, yes, you have done the same thing). This all will help us think Spring! Just leave a comment for one entry. If you want a second entry you can blog about it and link back here....that is up to you. Please leave a second comment if you do that. I will draw the winner in one week.....sometime next Sunday, January 31st......yikes, one month will be gone in 2010!! On a side note, we noticed 5 or 6 robins in our backyard today.....first time I have seen them this early. I wanted to tell them that we have A LOT of cold and snow yet to come and they better head south again. The picture is through our dining room window and isn't the greatest, but you can see that is a Mr. Robin!

Congratulations on a year of sharing! You must really love BOM groups. I am new to the Blog world (don't have my own yet, working up courage/energy) and had no idea there was so much out there. Generous giveaway, too. I can always use fabric and the ruler looks handy. I don't have one that size and am gradually discovering that each has its purpose. Sort of like the screwdrivers in my husband's tool box.

Congtratulations on a successful first year. We quilters/crafters/artists really tend to suppport each other and love to group with others. And we share -- we don't keep our discoveries or what we've learned private. And we really do love to give things away. Think how many quilts or other things you've given to others as opposed to keeping them yourself. We do make "keepers," the ones we wouldn't sell for any price. But -- we might just give one of those to a very special friend who "needed" it -- who was battling a serious cancer or dealing with some other very life-threatening illness or life crisis!
Robins and cheerful fabrics -- maybe enough to make me believe that spring actually does come every year. With this cold snap we're having, it's especially nice.

P.S. Sorry for preaching to the choir, but I was thinking how people are spreading the word about other people's giveaways when, in fact, the more people who enter, the smaller our chances of winning are!!
This comment shouldn't count as an entry, but I chuckled when I read about the ruler. I do that on purpose, but MY personal real irritating problem is buying the same magazine twice. When they come out bi-monthly, the cover and the contents maynot look familiar if you've just skimmed the mag and not had time to really sit down and read it. I can't remember what the covers look like for two months! And no returns allowed.

yes it is amazing how many good people are here on the blogs. I too started out just blogging, but I didn't know anyone at all. Didn't even know how to quilt really, but after almost three years, it's still a thrill when someone comments for the first time.
I feed robins some raisins in the winter, they need the energy and do love them.
Here in Whitby, we don't see them much...brave souls that they are.
