Then I chain stitched...........
I pressed and pressed.....love that little iron from Sears....
Squared up all the blocks to 5 1/2 inches...........
I didn't have any snacks while I was sewing because we had eaten a great meal out earlier and I was very full! Something to drink, my trusty beagle, Barney at my feet and the TV playing reruns of Project Runway in the background. I really love that show....am glad a new season just started. And this is how the night ended........
Then I started arranging on my design wall (flannel backed tablecloth pinned to the wall in the hallway).......I know I will change some of the blocks as I add more. I have not worked with turnovers before and actually very little half square triangles....I hate the bias side. But this was easy and I didn't have any real problem so it made my evening of sewing enjoyable!

You managed to get a lot done, one grandaughter will be very happy with this when it is done
Your turnovers look great made into HSTs! It will be a lovely quilt when it's all done! :0)
I looked at some turnovers just this week. I'd never seen them in person. I was a good girl and left them on the shelf...but I may have to make a trip back there!!! Looks great!
I think your quilt is going to be cute. I've never used turnovers either, but they look quick and easy to put together. It was a fun party, wasn't it?
The quilt you're working on with the half square triangles is gorgeous. Love the fabrics. Seems like I've been seeing quilts done completely in half square triangles everywhere lately . . . and they really appeal to me. Old-fashioned and yet always attractive. May have to give in and start something new!
The Friday night sew in was fun... I am off to check the other blogs now as well...

Hey Sandy Haven't been to a quilt shop since last Sept. What's a turnover? Yours looks great and easy.
I have been busy trying to finish hooking my rug. Since I started it last year around this time... I will go see the other sights.
Hi Sandi, I came once before you post what you did. Here I'm again admiring your colorful bias squares. It was so much I will do it again - Hugs Nat
Good job on those blocks. I think it is going to be quite cute...you can never go wrong with ME can you??? :)
Hi Sandy.Pleased to hear we had a great night sewing together. Even though you where sleeping when I did my. Love your turn overs. I am sure it will be beautiful when you are finished.
I also have a very flash design wall like you. LOL
Look at you all comfy in your jammies!! I watched project runway reruns too! Your turnover project looks great! I love when a pattern calls for the block to be big enough to square up, it makes everything nice and straight! This has been so much fun!

Wow Sandy you were very productive too that quilt's nearly finished! I love the fabric. Can I ask about the Cut n Press board you're using - looks a very useful thing and I haven't seen one locally. Glad you enjoyed the sew-in, I hope we have another one soon!
Love your pictures LOL.. especially the last one.
That quilt is very pretty. I'm glad you were able to get so much done. And I agree - it's always a plus when it all goes smooth.
