Retreat #1

It's hard to believe that a week has gone by since I was so excited to head to our quilting retreat. This is where we stayed. I borrowed this picture from their website since I forgot to take my own. It was a gorgeous building with the best ever conference room where all 36 of us set up our sewing essentials! The upper (third) floor with the rounded structure was our sewing area.

These are some of the pictures of the inside....before alot of the women were there....lots of natural and overhead lighting. I brought my Ott light and never needed it.

Back in the Fall we were given a paint swatch and told to make something quilty with the colors on the swatch...we could add an additional color. It was for a contest (if you wanted to participate) that would be voted on by all of us. This is what we laid out Friday when we arrived and then voted on later in the evening.

This was my entry....the lining was the green color with a blues print pocket. The pattern can be found here.

I'll have more to come tomorrow and some great pictures of the inspiration that was flowing all weekend.

What a gorgeous place for a retreat. I love that paint swatch idea. Your Ladyfingers purse turned out beautifully.

Looks like you had a great time. Wish I could have been there too. Maybe sometime when I learn to quilt better.

What fun! And I love that paint chip challenge. That sounds like great fun. Everyone matched theirs so perfectly. Your entry was super cute. I can't wait to hear more about the retreat.
