Wonderful Wednesday

I finished block 12 of the jelly roll sampler....finally.

Today I cut the sashing and cornerstones and sewed it all together. Tomorrow I will add the narrow white border and the wider dark pink border. Then I will have to decide how this will be quilted....any suggestions?

I love the texture of this tree that was planted 33 years ago when we were building our home. It is a honey locust and quite large.

I don't think we have had a really good show of color this fall. I don't know if it was because of our unusually dry summer, but there is really not brilliant color around where we live. Typical is this bradford pear tree in our yard....this is how the color is showing, in little spots. Some of the trees in the woods have dropped leaves already and others still have green leaves. Go figure!

And still blooming are these geraniums. I am going to keep these summer colors around for as long as I can!

Very pretty quilt...I especially love this #12 block. I still have my geraniums too and hope to keep them a while longer! Nice pix...our maples are pretty but the dry summer definitely made the fall colors less vivid.

Good for you getting your jelly roll top together! We have some color on the trees down here. I think we still need some more cold weather for the leaves to turn right.

Good job on the last block. I love the colors you used. I agree about the fall color.

We are still very green here too or just bare limbs. The foliage isn't what it really should be. It's disappointing. Your JRS is awesome!! Love that Verna. I don't have any quilting suggestions. I'm sure whatever you do, it will be great. Now I need to get mine done.

Your quilt turned out so pretty. Sorry no quilting suggestions. We have gorgeous color and it came a week early. Last night on the news it said it was because of the lack of rain that our color showed up earlier than normal. Plus we'd had so much sunshine the colors just glow. Really beautiful.

Your quilt is lovey. Great choice for colours. I always like the meandering stitch. Our day today is rainy and gloomy. I think I will go down and play with my new toy GO!!!

Pretty geraniums....ours are just starting to bloom! Perhaps it's not cold enough yet for the leaves.
