Been Away

I've been away from my blog lately because we took a spur of the moment trip to visit son and family in Oklahoma. Both of the grandsons, Jordan and Jared, qualified for state in wrestling and we decided to surprise everyone out there and show up! This is so out of my comfort zone...I am a planner! We surprised them at this restaurant.....what fun and a lot of white lies to get to this point! More to come.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to all of my sweet bloggie friends. I wanted to share some vintage cards that I think are so sweet. Most of them look like what I received back in the 1950's when I was getting them in my decorated box at school. However the above one, that I really love, wasn't from my era....I am older, but the boys didn't wear knickers! ;o)
Enjoy these cards. I hope they bring back memories for you too and that your special person and you have a great day!

We sure don't "darn" socks anymore....well, maybe we do if we knit them ourselves! You can find a lot of vintage cards here.

Still winter??

I really needed a new header with some color. The drabness of winter has taken a toll with me and if the sun comes out (not alot in Ohio) it does make you feel better. Here is another pic of the cardinals the day it was snowing pretty steady. There were about 3 or 4 males in our tree!

I have not felt like sewing lately and it bothers me. Could have something to do with the bursitis in my left shoulder and the infected big toe that I am nursing lately....both a separate Drs. visit. I am feeling better, so I guess I am running out of excuses. I did clean up my sewing room and organize. Don't have before pics....this is a section after organizing.
My cutting table was still a mess from Christmas and now it is clean and ready for cutting!

I did cut out the last three 12 Days of Christmas BOM that I am behind in, but no sewing yet. I need to get my mojo back. Maybe going to quilt guild tonight will help....it usually does! Reading all of the great ideas on blogs out there is inspiring also! Some of you gals, especially the ones with young children, really make good use of your time! When I was working and my kids were at home, I did too. Go figure, I have lots of time now that I am retired and waste too much....could be I know that there is always tomorrow! ;o)
